There's no way I can possibly recommend this anywhere near it's current retail (79$). It would need to be reduced to around 10$ a cube for me to consider a recommendation. I was in the market for some closet storage for shoes, so I was thrilled to pick this up via the Amazon Vine. I'm grateful for (and will use) the freebie, but if I had paid 79$, I would have definitely returned it!

ASSEMBLY: Missing hardware; cubes do not securely attach to one another. Out of the box, it took around 20 minutes to assemble. Hardware was missing, instructions in seperate areas of the box. In too many pieces (why not have the door pull pre-assembled?). Assembly is pretty intuitive, but someone needs to rethink the hardware. The small metal connectors don't fit every hole (although, in theory with this modular assembly, they should be switchable to any hole). In some holes, the tabs are too loose, in others a hammer is required to get them in. (These connectors "connect" the two assembled cubes together, and mount the rests for the shelves: so they need to be movable yet secure for this to be a modular unit.) Once connected by the connectors, the cubes don't stick together; not all the fittings are secure. The box includes some addictional plastic tabs to connect, but they dont stay in place either. So the cubes do NOT connect securely to each other. Ironically, the hardware that was missing was the extra hardware for securing the individual cubes, but the cubes themselves are securely held without them, it seems. They just can't be securely connected to one another.

DURABILITY: Cosmetically, I would say the durability is non-existant. I say that refering the the white panels you see in the picture. They are described as a bamboo material, which made me think in terms of bamboo flooring...which would be pretty strong. This is not strong. These may well be made from bamboo, but they are a paper made from bamboo. Yup, paper. About the grade of a thick watercolor paper. So, it's destined to be punctured, water-damaged, discolored, etc. It will be impossible to clean it of anything other than dust. And the back wall of every cube is ONLY this paper! Without reference to their appearance, I would upgrade durability to moderate. The four cube walls that are NOT only paper are secure and strong and some heavy plastic-type-stuff. So, if you dont care about the back wall very much, or the cosmetic look at all, they would be durable individually. Just don't expect them to stay together.

WHAT I LIKE: I REALLY LOVE THE IDEA THAT THESE ARE MODULAR. There is an insert showing different assemblies of these, and some suggestions (like the coffee table assembled from many of these) look cool. However, to make that work prettily, the white siding needs to be more plastic than paper and cover more of the ugly inner black plastic. They also need to have more secure fittings to attach them. I ALSO LOVE THAT THE SHELF IS CLEAR! That's probably my favorite part of this. I have these in my closet filled with shoes and I LOVE having the clear shelf that allows me to see the items under it. I may even consider adding a second clear shelf.

Ultimately: Even assuming all the parts were in the box (and they weren't), it's overpriced. NOT RECOMMENDED.

Note: As I am using these in my closet for shoes, I did not attach the door. The door looks nice, though.
