We have hardwood floors and I wanted something to step onto in the cold mornings. I wanted wool as they last so much longer and look nicer. This was a great buy and true to color shown on the site. They are a thick rug with cotton backing. I purchased the high quality rug pads to go under them which not only adds nice cushion but keeps them from moving around. The pads needed to be trimmed a bit, the rugs have a thick yarn density. They are wool so they will shed a while, just vacuum them and after about a month it decreases. I did have a spill on one and cleaned it, I suggest you spot clean first to ensure the cleaner doesn't fade the color. Bissell makes a carpet cleanser that did not affect the color of my rug when cleaned. Just spray cleaner, take a warm wet towel and lightly brush the area and then take a clean dry towel and place it over the moist area, put something heavy on it to lift the moisture and essentially what was spilled on it.
