The material is better than paper. My understanding is that it is technically a fabric. The colors are bright and not muted or bleeding. If you want to use your own picture for a poster, be sure it is of a quality that will translate well to a huge poster!

Putting up these monstrosities was something I did on my own. It can get annoying as the poster sticks to itself, but the material is so strong it can pull apart without any fear of tearing. I do suggest that one should use their hand to spread the poster out from the middle towards the edges and resist the urge to use a squeegee or any other hard material to smooth it out as this caused white spots to appear on my picture as the squeegee pressed the poster to the paint bumps on the apartment wall.

I'm happy with my purchase and will get a customized poster for another wall later. I love the fact that this can easily be repositioned, or moved to a new residence, none the worse for wear! Oh yeah, save the paper that you peel the poster off of, so you can use it again in the future to more easily transport a picture from one house to another.
