I had been using a Cuisinart DBM-8 Supreme [...], which I liked very much. The motor died, so I went shopping, and decided to try an upgrade.

The 2-14c has a programmable interface, and a manual stop function, which is a nice idea, but the receiving cup is flimsier than that of the DBM-8, and there is a gap of some kind when the receiving cup is snapped into the grinder. Lots of grounds leak out. If you buy this unit, also buy a handheld vacuum cleaner for the counter top.

That being said, it is very customizable, and does exactly what it is advertised to do, but in a messy way. I have gone back to the DBM-8.
