I needed lighting around my pool. The perimeter of my lanai is 130 feet. The previous resident had used lights in 20 foot lengths that were daisy chained together and secured with electricians tape. Needless to say it didn't work anymore and was an eyesore. I started looking for lights that would be economical and have a long life. You can buy lights that cost a lot more money, but why?? LED lighting is easy to use and hang. No light bulbs to break or short lengths to connect. OEM lighting offered the BEST price for their equipment. Some people may want all the extra connectors and power cords. I didn't. The lights came with a power cord attached and ready to plug in. I hung the lights easily and that night I was very pleased with the lighting effect--gentle light that bathed the area. Not harsh. The big test was tonight. We had 14 people over for Thanksgiving. We were eating on the back porch next to the pool. As it got dark I turned on the LED lights and you could hear everyone say "OOOOOHHHHHHH!!" The effect was perfect!!!
For the short term I believe they were worth every penny. For the long term we will see. The Florida sun is brutal, we will have to see how well this plastic stands up to the UV.
